National AGM 2002
We are glad to report that our 2002 National Annual General Meeting proved a resounding success.Having been unable to arrange a venue in Liverpool (due to circumstances beyond our control), we returned to last year's venue for the English AGM, at the Portland Basin Museum in Tameside.
Our speaker, Dr. Malaiya, gave us much food for thought regarding
the effects of diet and lifestyle on the health of children and adults with
heart disorders as well as a number of other important aspects of living
with congential heart problems and she was happy to let us incorporate her
ideas in a new information leaflet which should be available in the next few
months.
Matthew (our webmaster) also gave a guided tour of our ever-expanding
website and what it can offer both now and in the future to help communications throughout the Association.
As usual, it was a great opportunity for members to meet and exchange information socially - and the afternoon finished on a very high note with the long-awaited narrow boat trip. The children appeared to be almost as excited as the adults!
