We have just learned that Rosie, our 10 week old daughter has congenital heart condition (incl. a VSD)and requires major surgery. I am interested to speak with families that have been through this.

Our 8 month old son has dextra cardia and also has 3 holes in his heart aswell as other abnormalities, we would like to hear from any other parents in similar circumstances.

I'm Dan, and my daughter Bethany has various defects with her heart (Double Outlet Right Ventricle, Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, Transposition of the Great Arteries, Pulmonary Stenosis, Unbalance Atrial-Ventricular Septum Defect, Right Atrial Isomerism, Moderate AV Valve leak) as well as other 'abnormalities' (Situs Invertus (Stomach on the Right), Aspleenic (No Spleen), Neuroblastoma (Form of Cancer, Removed), Minor Brain Damage from Clotting/Strokes, Minor Fitting Episopes from Clotting/Strokes). The heart and gut problems are often categorised as "Ivemark Syndrome" "Hetrotaxy" "Asplenia" "Dextrocardia" or "Isomerism".
Bethany is 10 months old today, and is due for her Bi-Lateral, Bi-Directional Glenn-Shunt on 29th November.
I am happy to talk with anyone that feels they need help and support - we found out about her problems when she was 23 weeks in utero, and I have lots of contacts!

Hello,
Our daughter (4 and a half months old) has congenitally corrected transposition with vsd, pulmonary atresia and dextrocardia. She's had a bt right sided shunt and is due to have a left sided one soon, then corrective surgery when she's older. Sometimes feel so isolated! I'm positive we're not the only ones to have a child with this condition but sometimes feels like it. Would be interested in having some contact with anyone who's child has same/similar condition... i feel like it's so difficult when it's your first child - we don't know what's normal or what's because of her condition.
